We are pleased to welcome seasoned tourism executive Kirsten Soder to Destination Think’s talented team of destination marketing strategists. She will step into a new role as Executive Manager of Destination Marketing for Tourism Campbell River & Region.

This new position falls under Destination Think’s portfolio of tourism management in Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada, which includes tourism promotion, visitor servicing, experience development, and the implementation of a 5-year strategy launched in 2016. Kirsten will join the Think roster on August 1, 2017.

Kirsten brings ideal tourism experience from a career marked by innovation and change management. She has served as Executive Director at Tourism Tofino since 2011, where she led the restructuring of the organization as a non-profit society. In 2016, Tourism Tofino won Tourism Vancouver Island’s 2016 Multimedia Marketing Award and Destination British Columbia’s 2017 BC Tourism Industry Innovation Award for the “Share Vancouver Island” campaign. Kirsten played a vital role in the development of Tourism Tofino’s 5-year Strategic Plan in 2017.

Kirsten also participated in Destination Think Forum 2016, an exclusive gathering of destination marketing leaders held in New York City. At Forum, executives representing destinations across five continents collaborated to address their greatest challenges together.

As her role begins, Kirsten will be able to draw from a wealth of international expertise by collaborating with Think’s strategists and our wider network of destination marketing specialists. We look forward to working with Kirsten in Campbell River as we continue to forge a strong and vibrant future for tourism alongside the local community.
